The details state that is has 'optional shoulder strap covers' but the only 'optional' piece is the cover itself there's still a big, bulky cover over the strap itself that cannot be removed. My son is only 5 months old and the straps are already tight on him, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to 'grow' with him. Was very excited for this seat because of the convertibility and the swivel feature, but I am rather disappointed with it. We are highly satisfied thus far with this carseat and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new carseat.
